Terms of Service
The short version. Aslan Family Calendar is a free household calendar and chore board for a wall-mounted tablet. Use it as you like at home; don't try to break it, resell it or use it for anything unlawful. It comes as it is, without guarantees, and your data stays on your device — see the Privacy Policy.
1. Who these terms are between
These terms are an agreement between you and Aslan, the individual developer and publisher of the app ("we", "us"). By installing or using Aslan Family Calendar (the "app") you accept these terms. If you don't agree with them, don't use the app.
2. What the app is
The app shows a shared family calendar and chore list on an Android tablet. All calendar, chore and settings data is stored on the device the app is installed on. The app can optionally connect to a Google account to read events from Google calendars you choose and, if you turn on two-way sync, write events back to those calendars.
3. Licence to use the app
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the app on Android devices you own or control, for personal, non-commercial household use. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, rent or sublicense the app, reverse-engineer it except where the law allows, or remove any notices from it. The app and its design remain our property.
4. Your Google account
Connecting a Google account is optional. If you do, you are responsible for that account and for the content in the calendars you choose to sync. Your use of Google Calendar is governed by Google's own terms; we are not a party to them. The app's access can be withdrawn at any time from the app's Settings or from your Google Account permissions page.
With two-way sync on, changes you make on the tablet are sent to the selected Google calendar. Make sure everyone using the tablet understands this before turning it on. We are not responsible for events created, changed or deleted through the app by people who have access to the tablet.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the app to store or share content that is unlawful, harmful or infringes someone else's rights; not to attempt to gain unauthorised access to Google's services or anyone else's account through the app; and not to interfere with the app's operation or use it in a way that could damage, disable or overburden any service it relies on.
6. Availability and changes
The app is a personal project. We may update, change or stop providing it, or any feature of it, at any time without notice. Google Calendar sync depends on Google's services and may stop working if Google changes or withdraws them. We have no obligation to provide support, updates or fixes, though we usually try.
7. No warranty
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or uninterrupted operation. In particular, the app is not a substitute for keeping your own record of important dates; always check critical appointments at their source.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for loss of data, missed appointments or events, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app, which is nothing. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
9. Ending the agreement
You can stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it, which deletes all local data. We may end your licence if you breach these terms. Sections 7, 8 and 10 continue to apply after the agreement ends.
10. General
If part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. Our not enforcing a term is not a waiver of it. These terms are the entire agreement between us about the app. You may not transfer your rights under them to anyone else.
11. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, the new version will be published at this address with an updated effective date. Continuing to use the app after that means you accept the new terms.
